Recently, Phillip Carbon Black of India (PCBL) announced the establishment of a subsidiary in Belgium to actively promote market research and trade activities in the European region. The news was revealed based on the company's financial report for the first fiscal quarter of fiscal year 2023-2024.
It is reported that the Mumbai-based carbon black manufacturer officially registered a European subsidiary called "PCBL Europe SRL" in Belgium in April this year. The main responsibility of this subsidiary is the research and development of specialty carbon black and other chemicals., manufacturing, marketing and trading activities.
PCBL not only has a European subsidiary in Belgium, but also operates an innovation center in the Ghislenghien region. The innovation center focuses on the research and development of "market-driven exploration and innovation, expanding and enhancing product value", injecting new impetus into the development of PCBL.
PCBL also revealed that in the second quarter ended June 30, the company completed the first phase of the special carbon black expansion project at its Mundra plant in Gujarat. The project was put into operation in July, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of special carbon black. With the completion of the second phase of the project, the production capacity is expected to increase by another 20,000 tons.
PCBL's second-quarter financial report released on July 12 showed that sales fell 8% year-on-year to 12.9 billion Indian rupees (approximately 144 million euros), but pre-tax profit increased slightly to 1.6 billion Indian rupees (approximately 17.9 million euros). This data shows that PCBL is still seeking to continuously improve its competitiveness while responding to market challenges.
