The China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (referred to as: China Petrochemical Federation) held a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting at Qingdao Black Cat New Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. on August 13. The purpose of this meeting is to identify the "Development of Highly Dispersed Waterborne Carbon Black" technology jointly developed by Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Qingdao Black Cat Research Institute. The appraisal committee agreed that this technology has reached the international leading level and made recommendations to promote the further promotion and application of this technology.
The host of the meeting was Wang Yimin, Director of the Equipment and Innovation System Construction Division of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The appraisal committee is composed of Gui Taijiang, a professor at the Institute of Ocean Chemical Engineering, as the chairman, and Zong Chengzhong, a professor at the School of Polymer, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, as the deputy chairman. In addition, Wang Bo, director of the National Key Laboratory of Marine Coatings, Li Xuebing, researcher at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Processes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peng Hongjun, senior engineer of Beijing Jinyu Coatings Co., Ltd., Ding Yanmei, vice president of China Coatings Industry Association, and Shandong Province Coatings Industry Association Secretary-General Lin Zhe and others also attended the meeting as appraisal members.
The identification expert group listened to project work reports, technical research and development reports, economic and social benefit analysis reports, etc. made by Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Qingdao Black Cat Research Institute, reviewed user reports, inspection reports, novelty search reports and other materials, and inspected the production site. The project uses ordinary carbon black raw materials to produce highly dispersible water-borne carbon black. Not only is the production process reasonable, but also performs well in terms of high blackness and stable performance. The appraisal committee spoke highly of this technology and believed that it could not only replace foreign high-end products, but also have continuous production capabilities. In addition, this innovation has filled a gap in China's carbon black field, brought significant benefits to the economy and society, and the market prospects are also optimistic.
Academician Zhang Liqun of the Chinese Academy of Engineering was also specially invited to participate in the meeting. At the meeting, he emphasized the huge potential of highly dispersible waterborne carbon black in the application fields of the rubber industry and coating industry. He said that the cooperative research and development between Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Qingdao Black Cat Research Institute has successfully overcome foreign technical problems and created a new situation for China's water-borne carbon black field.
At present, the products of this project have been actually used in coating manufacturers.
Qingdao Black Cat Research Institute said that they will continue to adhere to scientific and technological innovation and continue to work hard in basic research, technological innovation, industrialization, etc., aiming to promote enterprises to continuously achieve high-quality development and become a leader in the field of highly dispersed waterborne carbon black. They will give full play to the advantages of corporate technology centers and international exchange platforms, continuously improve their scientific research and innovation capabilities, and contribute to the progress of the industry.
