On August 14, Sheffield Resources announced that the company's joint venture with Yanshan Iron and Steel will start commissioning the Thunderbird Zirconium Titanium Placer Project. The project has a total investment of 484 million Australian dollars and the equipment will be put into use in September.
It is understood that the equipment construction of the project has been basically completed and the debugging of supporting services is also in progress. At present, the earthworks of the tailings storage facility have been completed and water has been successfully pumped from the well site to the rainwater reservoir.
The covering mining work is progressing smoothly. The construction of the dry mining and slurry mixing equipment contracted by Piacentini has entered an advanced stage, and on-site assembly will be carried out later in this quarter. It is expected that the commissioning of ore mining and dry mining mixing equipment and process equipment will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and it is planned to ensure the shipment of the first batch of customer goods in the first quarter of 2024.
Recently, Bruce Griffin, Executive Chairman of Sheffield Resources, visited Yanshan Steel's operations in China.
