The signing ceremony for the 10,000-ton bio-based degradable polyester rubber industrialization project was successfully held

The signing ceremony of the 10,000-ton biodegradable polyester rubber industrialization project was held on July 20 in Rudong County, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. On the same day, Jiangsu Henghui Security Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Chemical Technology, South China University of Technology, Tongcheng New Materials Group Co., Ltd. and Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone signed a cooperation agreement.

It is understood that the total investment of the project is 1 billion yuan and covers an area of about 120 mu. It aims to build a production line with an annual output of 110000 tons of biodegradable polyester rubber, and the first phase is to build a continuous production line with an annual output of 10, 000 tons. The new company of the project, Jiangsu Hengnuo New material Technology Co., Ltd., aims to promote the industrialization of biodegradable polyester rubber and its application in gloves, tires, shoes and other fields, and continue to explore and develop new technologies in the process of industrialization.

Biodegradable polyester rubber is the only biodegradable rubber material in the world created by China. It is an important achievement made by academician Zhang Liqun and dynasty professors after 20 years of research and development. The rubber variety has passed 100-ton and 1000-ton tests, and successfully developed new degradable products such as degradable tires, degradable shoes, biodegradable chewing gum, degradable plastic toughening agents and fully degradable masks. These new materials are expected to solve the wear debris pollution of tires and other products and the environmental pollution of rubber products which are not easy to be recycled. In August last year, the world's first batch of biodegradable shoes were successfully released in Beijing, and the signing ceremony was the first landing of the world's first rubber material achievement, which was a major breakthrough in the development of original varieties in China's rubber industry. it has also brought new vitality to the green and sustainable development of the rubber industry.

It is worth mentioning that the project has received strong support from various forces. As a leader in the rubber industry, Zhang Liqun, president of South China University of Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said, "We should have rubber materials created by the Chinese themselves, which can be used to contribute to the development of human society." the biodegradable polyester rubber that has realized industrialization in this project not only has independent intellectual property rights, but also fills the gap in the field of independent synthetic rubber varieties in China. In the next step, the team will work out questions for enterprises, and universities and enterprises will jointly answer them. finally, the deep integration and development model of industry-university-research by enterprises will continue to explore new technologies and applications of synthetic rubber. The signing of this project means that the development of green degradable rubber industry has stepped onto a new stage.

Wang Chao, head of project technology and professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, introduced the industrialization research progress of the world's first biodegradable rubber at the signing ceremony, and showed the research and development achievements of the material to the participants.

The successful signing of the project also attracted the attention of some downstream application customers. Representatives of Shandong Linglong Tire Co., Ltd., Li Ning (China) Sporting goods Co., Ltd., China Strategy Rubber Group Co., Ltd., also attended the signing ceremony and held the "Strategic partner Licensing ceremony". The downstream application customer representatives at the meeting said that they will work closely with the new company to build the ecological circle of the whole industry chain of biodegradable polyester rubber and strive to realize the marketization of the original rubber.
