General Administration of Customs: China's tire exports achieved double-digit growth in the first half of 2023

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, China's tire exports achieved strong growth in June and the first half of 2023.

In June 2023, China's tire exports once again set a historical record, achieving double-digit growth year-on-year and month-on-month, and exports also maintained stable growth. In the same month alone, China's rubber tire exports reached 810,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 23%, and a month-on-month increase of 40,000 tons; the export value reached 142.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%.

It is worth noting that the export performance of new pneumatic rubber tires is particularly outstanding. In June, the export volume of new pneumatic rubber tires reached 780,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%, and a month-on-month increase of 40,000 tons; the export value was 137.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24%. In terms of the number of pieces, the export volume of new pneumatic rubber tires reached 56.69 million pieces in June, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%, and a month-on-month increase of 2.87 million pieces.

Looking further at the data for the first half of the year, except for a slight decline in January, China's tire exports maintained a sustained growth momentum from February to June.

From January to June, China's cumulative exports of rubber tires reached 4.28 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%; the export value was 749.23 billion yuan, an increase of 19.9%. The cumulative export volume of new pneumatic rubber tires reached 4.14 million tons, an increase of 14.2%; the export value was 720.77 billion yuan, an increase of 20.6%. In terms of the number of pieces, from January to June, China exported a total of 300.08 million pieces of new pneumatic rubber tires, an increase of 6.9%.

It can be seen from the above data that China's tire export market continues to develop, especially new pneumatic rubber tires occupy an important position in exports. This good momentum has further consolidated the competitiveness of China's tire industry in the international market and brought gratifying results to Chinese tire manufacturers and exporters.
