According to customs data, China imported 26,400 tons of carbon black in August 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 1.34% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.61%; from January to August 2024, China imported a total of 205,000 tons of carbon black, an increase of 61.68% over the same period last year, and imports increased by approximately 78,200 tons.
The top three regions for carbon black imports in August 2024 are: Russia, Belgium, and South Korea; accounting for 78%, 5%, and 5% of the total imports respectively.
According to customs data, China's carbon black exports in August 2024 were approximately 84,900 tons, an increase of 19.05% year-on-year and an increase of 2.86% month-on-month. From January to August 2024, China's carbon black exports totaled 603,900 tons, an increase of 82.40% over the same period last year, and the export volume increased by approximately 272,800 tons.
Among them, the top three regions in carbon black exports in August 2024 are: Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, accounting for 29%, 24%, and 11% of the total exports respectively.

According to customs data, China imported approximately 24,200 tons of high-temperature coal tar in August 2024, a year-on-year increase of 92.41% and a month-on-month increase of 27.36%; From January to August 2024, the cumulative import volume was approximately 112,100 tons, an increase of 56.74% compared with the same period last year, and the import volume increased by 40,600 tons. Among them, the top two regions for high-temperature coal tar imports in August were Indonesia and Malaysia.
