Gasoline price index

On October 18, China's gasoline price index fell 11.25, or 0.12%, to 9209.73, while China's gasoline price index fell 11.28, or 0.12%, to 9537.05. The 9-month gasoline index and the 9-month gasoline index were both downgraded, and the price difference between the 9-month gasoline index and the 9-month gasoline index was 327.32.

 

Gasoline market analysis:

Today, the wholesale price of gasoline in China is relatively stable in most areas, and has been lowered in some areas, among which gasoline prices in South China, Southwest China and East China have dropped by 50-100 yuan per ton. The ex-factory price of georefining has stopped falling and stabilized in some areas, but gasoline prices in Shandong, North China, Northwest, Northeast and Southwest regions have dropped by 30-200 yuan per ton, and most of them are concentrated in low-end prices. At present, the transaction of China's gasoline market is lukewarm, the wait-and-see atmosphere of traders in the middle and lower reaches still exists, and there is less speculative demand. The main unit transaction policy is flexible, there is a hidden benefit promotion operation, social unit refinery quotation has also been lowered.

Future forecast

From the perspective of international crude oil, the market is less worried about geopolitical factors; there are still other positive and negative factors for the market to weigh. In addition, API crude oil inventories fell that week and EIA data are about to be released, if EIA inventories also decline, it will form a positive support for oil prices. At present, the performance of the gasoline market is mediocre, traders' willingness to hoard goods is obviously reduced, procurement rigid demand is the main; refinery shipments are poor for many days to maintain the volume of shipments, the market is lack of positive factors to stimulate, bearish sentiment is obvious, and there is limited room for price increases. On the whole, it is expected that China's gasoline market will continue to be weak in the short term.

Since 24:00 on October 10, 2023, the prices of gasoline and diesel in China have been reduced by 85 yuan and 80 yuan per ton respectively. After the adjustment, the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel in all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and central cities are shown in the attached table. The next price adjustment is expected to be October 24.
