Glass import and export analysis: According to customs data, glass imports in May 2024 were 18,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3% and a month-on-month increase of 10%. From January to May 2024, the cumulative import volume was 104,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19,200 tons, or 22.55%.
In terms of countries, the top three regions for glass imports in May were: South Korea with 4,300 tons, Japan with 3,400 tons, and Thailand with 3,370 tons, accounting for 25%, 20%, and 20% respectively.
According to customs data, glass exports in May 2024 were 37,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 38% and a month-on-month increase of 5%. From January to May 2024, cumulative exports were 171,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 152,900 tons, or a range of-47.12%.
In terms of countries, the top three glass exports in May were South Korea with 0.30 million tons, Mongolia with 2,100 tons, and Peru with 0.20 million tons, accounting for 22%, 15%, and 14% respectively.
