According to customs data, in April 2024, China imported 63,900 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year increase of 94.46% and a month-on-month decrease of 70.33%; from January to April 2024, the total imported soda ash was approximately 598,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 645%, and the import volume increased by approximately 518,400 tons.
In April, soda ash importing countries were: the United States, United Arab Emirates, and Turkey, accounting for 75%, 16%, and 4% of the total imports respectively.
In April 2024, China exported 90,500 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year decrease of 49.01% and a month-on-month decrease of 9.40%; from January to April 2024, a total of 308,400 tons of soda ash were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 51%, and export volume decreased by approximately 319,800 tons.
Among them, the top three countries in soda ash exports in April were South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines, accounting for 13%, 13%, and 11% of the total exports respectively.
