According to statistics from Tuduo, China's titanium dioxide output in April 2024 was 408,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 2.56%, and a year-on-year increase of 17.98%. The total titanium dioxide output from January to April 2024 was approximately 1.5803 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.38%, and the output increased by approximately 267,600 tons.
In April, the output in titanium dioxide areas increased and decreased. Affected by the market and environmental protection, individual enterprises and large factories in Shandong reduced production. The output of titanium dioxide in Sichuan, Guangxi and Guangdong increased. The overall output of titanium dioxide decreased in April.
The top three regions in April's output were Sichuan, Shandong and Anhui, accounting for 22%, 13%, and 13% of the total output respectively;
In April, the output of chlorinated titanium dioxide was 49,300 tons, a decrease of 12.84% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 10.65%. The cumulative output of chlorinated titanium dioxide from January to April 2024 was 214,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.77%, and the output increased by 11,700 tons year-on-year.
In April, the titanium dioxide market was stable and weak, and the orders received by enterprises fell short of expectations. The inventories of some manufacturers increased, and individual enterprises reduced production and reduced burdens. Affected by the high cost of titanium dioxide raw materials, the price of titanium dioxide fell only in April, with the market adjustment range at 500 yuan/Ton around, the market operation is weak, transaction prices are relatively chaotic, there are more discussions, demand is weak, and the titanium dioxide market may continue to stabilize and weaken. It is expected that the output in May may be basically flat.
