Glass output and operating rate in April 2024

Glass output: In April 2024, China's glass output was 5.2418 million tons, an increase of 8.93% year-on-year to 4.8122 million tons and a decrease of 3.41% month-on-month to 5.427 million tons; from January to April 2024, China's glass output totaled 21.0292 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9867 million tons, or a range of 10.43%.

Glass operating rate: The glass market operating rate in April was 85.87%, a year-on-year increase of 7.78%, and a month-on-month decline of 0.21%. Coinciding with the Qingming Festival holiday, the operating rate of the glass market fell slightly in April; however, the overall supply side remained relatively high, and the fundamentals of strong supply and weak demand continued.
