Yangzi Petrochemical Reform Evaporation System Increases Ethylene Production
After more than three months of construction, the new liquefied gas evaporation system technical transformation project of Yangzi Petrochemical Ethylene Plant was recently put into use, which effectively improved the processing capacity of liquefied gas, and the daily output of ethylene reached more than 2,300 tons.
An ethylene plant of Yangzi Petrochemical Olefin Plant has a liquefied gas (LPG) evaporation system with an evaporation capacity of 40 tons/hour. Due to the water and heavy components in the liquefied gas, the operating capacity of the evaporation system is reduced, which reduces the design capacity of the original ethylene plant from 40 tons/hour to 34-36 tons/hour. When the capacity of the liquefied gas evaporation system is reduced to a certain extent due to fouling, the ethylene unit will not be able to use liquefied gas as raw material, affecting ethylene production and material balance of the entire plant.
To this end, Yangzi Petrochemical decided to add a 40 ton/hour liquefied gas evaporation system to the ethylene plant as a parallel system of the original liquefied gas evaporation system to improve the operating capacity of the liquefied gas evaporation system and expand the total liquefied gas. The evaporation capacity will reach 80 tons / hour, which can realize the production operation mode of two sets of ethylene equipment with liquefied gas as the cracking raw material. At the same time, when the old evaporation system is cut and cleaned, the new evaporation system can be used as a backup.
The project started on August 7 and was completed on November 12 and was ready for feeding. On November 15, the new liquefied gas evaporation system was equipped with feed conditions and was successfully put into use. The operation data of more than half a month shows that after the new liquefied gas evaporation system is put into use, it runs in parallel with the old system, which improves the processing capacity of liquefied gas. The ethylene combined plant increases the daily input of liquefied gas by nearly 100 tons, and the daily output of ethylene reaches More than 2,300 tons.
