WACKER Introduces Optically Bonded Silicone Gel for Plastic Bonding
Traditional automotive display panels are mostly made of glass. With the increasing emphasis on safety, foreign markets are increasingly using plastic materials. However, the bonding of plastic materials is much more difficult. For this reason, WACKER has developed LUMISIL® 245-GELUV for plastic bonding.
Global polyurethane network news: the traditional car display panel cover mostly uses glass. With the increasing attention to safety, foreign markets are increasingly inclined to use plastic materials. However, the bonding of plastic materials is much more difficult. For this reason, WACKER has developed LUMISIL® 245-GELUV for plastic bonding.
Low modulus, high strength, gel structure can reduce vibration
This product has good adhesion to plastics and high bonding strength. Its soft gel structure can help release stress and reduce vibration. It can be widely used in optical display fitting in various structures, materials and environments, especially for difficulty. Higher sensitivity polarizers and plastic + glass (P + G) fit applications.
This product is a two-component, UV-curable transparent silicone resin. As a new type of water gel for optical display bonding, LUMISIL® 245-GELUV has low modulus and high strength, and its soft gel structure. Helps release stress and reduce vibration.
The superior bonding properties of the product make it suitable for a wide range of optical display fits in a variety of structures, materials and environments. Especially for plastic materials, LUMISIL® 245-GELUV has good adhesion and high bonding strength, so it is suitable for applications such as sensitive polarizers and P+G bonding.
WACKER also introduced the LUMISIL® UV range of UV-curable optically bonded water-based adhesives and the fast-curing LUMISIL® 102FC thermoset silicone water gel.
High light transmission, low shrinkage, low modulus of elasticity, especially suitable for large touch screen applications
LUMISIL® UV series is a two-component, UV-curable silicone water gel with high light transmission, low shrinkage, low modulus of elasticity and high dielectric constant, all of which make the LUMISIL® UV series Optical water gel is ideal for large touch screens and touch display products for automotive, marine and aerospace applications.
The LUMISIL® UV cure mechanism is triggered by UV radiation without the use of a photoinitiator and no other by-products. At the same time, LUMISIL®UV not only ensures reliable bonding of the display, but also greatly simplifies the bonding process and improves production efficiency by eliminating the side-side curing of the shadow areas that may affect the bonding of the components.
The LUMISIL® UV range offers a wide range of viscosities from 2000 to 45,000 mPa·s (mPa.s) to suit different process technologies and equipment.
LUMISIL® 102FC is a two component, thermoset silicone gel with high light transmission and excellent thermal stability. At the same time, it has low viscosity, low shrinkage, low haze and low yellowing, and these properties change little even after reliability testing in harsh environments.
The product cures quickly in just 10 minutes at 65 °C. As a result, LUMISIL® 102FC can meet the requirements of indoor and outdoor display products for portable displays, public information displays and navigation devices.
WACKER will present the new LUMISIL® 245-GELUV optically bonded silicone gel, LUMISIL® UV series UV, at the 2018 Shenzhen International Touch & Show (C-Touch) in Shenzhen from November 22nd to 24th. Cured optically bonded water-based glue and fast-curing LUMISIL® 102FC thermoset silicone water gel.
