BASF was forced to implement further major price adjustments for all polyurethane products from April 1.
Due to current geopolitical instability and an unprecedented war in Ukraine, gas prices in Europe have reached alarming new record levels, even surpassing the sharp gains seen since mid-2021 and potentially rising further.In this regard, manufacturing costs have been adversely affected and have a key impact on the economy of polyurethane products produced in Europe.
In this case, to ensure the feasibility of production, further major price adjustments for all polyurethane products will be implemented from April 1, BASF said.BASF has previously issued a price increase letter saying that it will raise the price of selected polyols in North and South America from March 11,2022, or if existing contracts allow.The price increase is adjusted as follows:
1.Lang Sachs: Special chemicals company Lang Sachs raises the price of 1,6-hexadiol (HDO) worldwide, effective today.The added amount was EUR 1,200 / tonne.HDO is an important precursor of high performance coatings, fibers, adhesives, polyurethane and polycarbonate diols, and can also be used as a reactive dilent of epoxy resin.
2. Ashland: From April 1,2022, the Company will raise prices by 15% or, if the contract permits, to cover general inflation materials, energy, freight and labor related to raw materials.The price increase includes all Ashland products, covering all markets and applications of the company's services, including life sciences, personal care, special additives, and intermediates.Meanwhile, North American prices of 1,4-butanediol and its derivatives have been raised since April 1.
3.dongcao: From April 1st, the price of all polyethylene (PE) resin products was raised, up by more than 40 yen (about 2,176 yuan / ton).
Four Dow: Increase the price of elastomer products from April 1.The target products are all elastomer products including polyolefin elastomer "Engage" and EPDM "Nodel", up by more than 35 yen / kg (about 1903 yuan / ton).
4.Tao's: The price of all products around the world will rise.The price increase will take effect on April 1,2022 or as permitted by the customer contract.Price increases will vary depending on the geographical region, the availability of solutions, and the market for services.In some areas, increases may be higher where local conditions may require additional adjustments.
