Titanium is an inert metal, its chemical symbol is Ti, its atomic number is 22, and it is a silver-colored metal. Specific gravity is 4.51 and melting point is 1668℃. It is very abundant in the earth's crust, second only to iron, aluminum, and magnesium, ranking fourth. It is more than ten times the sum of commonly used metals such as copper, nickel, lead, and zinc. The ores used industrially to produce titanium are rutile, ilmenite, and titanomagnetite. Due to the difficulty of separation and extraction, industrially significant titanium metal was not produced until the 1940s. Therefore, titanium is generally referred to as a rare light metal. Since different fields require different titanium and titanium alloy products, they are processed into plates, rods, tubes, strips, wires, and other shapes that can be further processed to meet the needs of various fields. The surface of titanium plate should be smooth and metallic in nature. The plate is allowed to be delivered with a sandblasted surface. The surface of the titanium plate is allowed to have slight darkening and local water stains, minor defects, scratches, indentations, pits, and other defects not exceeding half of the thickness tolerance are permitted, but the minimum thickness must be guaranteed. The surface is not allowed to have cracks, peeling, oxidation, indentation, metal and non-metallic inclusions, and other macroscopic defects or traces of over-alkali cleaning. Titanium plate is allowed to clear local defects in the direction of rolling, but the thickness of the plate after removal must not be less than the minimum allowable thickness.
钛板表面应光亮,呈金属本色。板材允许以喷砂表面交货。钛板表面允许存在轻微的发暗和局部水渍,允许有不超过厚度公差一半的局部缺陷、划痕、压痕、凹坑等缺陷,但应保证最小厚度。表面不允许有裂纹、起皮、氧化皮、压痕、金属与非金属夹杂等宏观缺陷以及过碱洗的痕迹。钛板允许沿轧制方向清理局部缺陷,但清理后板材的厚度不得小于最小允许厚度。

Titanium and titanium alloys have low density and high tensile strength, and they possess almost the highest specific strength among metallic materials in the temperature range of -253 to 600 degrees Celsius. They form a thin, hard oxide film in an appropriate oxidizing environment and exhibit excellent corrosion resistance. Additionally, they are non-magnetic and have a low coefficient of linear expansion. These properties make titanium and its alloys the preferred choice as important structural materials for aerospace applications, and subsequently, their use has expanded into shipbuilding, the chemical industry, and other fields, leading to rapid development. Especially in the chemical industry, titanium and titanium alloy products are increasingly used in various products, such as petrochemicals, fibers, pulp, fertilizers, electrochemistry, and desalination. They are used to make heat exchangers, reaction towers, synthesizers, autoclaves, and more. Among these, titanium plates are used as electrolytic plates and tanks in electrolysis and desalination processes, and as tower bodies and kettle bodies in reaction towers and reactors, etc.
