Zeren Group has successfully completed the acquisition of Türkiye Petrolleri (TP Petrol Dagitim AS)
Zeren Group has successfully completed the acquisition of Türkiye Petrolleri (TP Petrol Dagitim AS), one of Turkey’s largest fuel retail chains, having received all necessary regulatory approvals. The acquisition, combined with the previous acquisition of Alpet, strengthens Zeren Group’s leading position in Turkey’s energy sector and represents a consolidation of domestic energy companies.
Zeren’s new network of petrol stations in the country totals 1,120, equivalent to around 6.5% of the national fuel market, which is set to grow by 7.9% to $35 billion in sales by 2023, according to energy regulator EPDK.
Zeren Group has acquired Alpet, a well-known fuel distributor that operates 259 petrol stations in Turkey, as well as six storage and refuelling facilities with a total capacity of 227,014 cubic metres. This is the latest move by Zeren Group into the wider energy sector. Founded in 1963, Türkiye Petrolleri operates more than 800 gas stations in Turkey, as well as nine refueling facilities and approximately 307,000 cubic meters of storage capacity.
Zeren Group's energy business in the UK includes Laval Energy, an energy consultancy based in London. Through this entity, Zeren Group hopes to extend its success in Turkey and Europe to the UK.
The global energy landscape is rapidly transforming, with an increasing emphasis on sustainability and technological innovation, and Zeren Group is committed to aligning with these macro trends by investing in advanced technologies and sustainable practices throughout its operations.
Mustafa Yigit Zeren, Chairman and CEO of Zeren Group, said: "Our acquisitions of Alpet and Türkiye Petrolleri mark important milestones in Zeren Group's strategic growth and strengthen our position as a responsible distributor of energy solutions. Looking ahead, we are excited about the prospects of expanding our presence in Europe, especially in the UK, where we recognize the country's dynamic energy market. We are already firmly established in the UK through Laval Energy, an energy consultancy focused on project development, and we look forward to further strengthening our capabilities."
