Micronized Powder Co., Ltd. announces the cessation of production and sales of coatings containing PTFE
Micro Powders has announced that it has decided to cease production and sales of paints and coatings containing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which are commonly used in the production of non-stick coatings, in order to comply with global health and safety regulations.
Over the past few years, the company has developed a range of PTFE-free alternatives based on nanocomposite technology that outperform or outperform alternative additives, and customers from multiple industries, including can, container and architectural coatings and graphic arts, have turned to these more sustainable and safer solutions.
“We developed our advanced nanocomposite technology in 2019, and now we can offer an industry-leading portfolio of additives for PTFE replacement, enabling our customers to remove PFAS-based materials from their formulations,” said Gary Strauss, President of Micro Powders. “We know how important it is for formulators to quickly turn to the right additives to meet evolving regulatory challenges without sacrificing coating performance.”
