SUN ACE launches functional plastic additives that provide stable injection molding properties for difficult-to-form materials with high mixing ratios
Japan's SUN ACE has launched the "LOP Series", a high-performance additive that helps improve plastic molding productivity. It can improve productivity by improving the fluidity and dispersion of high-filler filling compounds and various thermoplastic resins during the molding process. . LOP series works at the interface between resin and filler, improving wettability (affinity) and making voids less likely to occur. For example, adding LOP to a composite material of polypropylene (PP) and talc can achieve fluidity that exceeds that of PP monomer.
In response to the demand for environmental friendliness, there is an increasing demand for molding materials containing high proportions of eggshells, cellulose, etc. However, during injection molding, such molding materials often lead to incomplete filling (Short Shot). However, the use of the LOP series improves the sliding properties with the mold, making it easier to obtain the desired molded product. It has also been confirmed that even polypropylene containing 60% eggshell can ensure stable injection moldability.
In addition, because the LOP series can prevent thermally degraded substances from adhering to the mold exit during extrusion molding, causing problems such as scratches on the product surface, it is expected to be a substitute for per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
