Sanyo Chemical has developed a rust-proof agent that is both water-soluble and fat-soluble
Sanyo Chemical recently announced the development of an amine adsorption film type rust preventer - SANHIBITOR NO.70. Through its own interface control technology, it accurately adjusts the balance between hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. It can exert its high efficiency in both water-soluble and fat-soluble applications, and can treat a variety of metals such as steel, non-ferrous metals and alloys. At present, some applications have been implemented, and plans are being made to accelerate the promotion in Japan and abroad, aiming to achieve an annual sales volume of 700~800 tons in the future. The new rust preventer is expected to be widely used in mixing with metalworking oil and machinery lubricating oil, dissolving in the cooling water of storage tanks and pipelines, or as a rust preventer raw material for blending rust preventers (oils).
Similar rust preventers under Sanyo Chemical effectively block oxygen and water by adsorbing polar groups and densely arranging hydrophobic groups on the metal surface. They are widely used because they easily form a film and can be removed by degreasing and washing. SANHIBITOR NO.70 is an aqueous solution with an active agent structure that adds a hydrophobic group to the amino adsorption group. It retains the advantages of both water-soluble and oil-soluble rust preventers, and has the characteristics of inhibiting the generation of foam. It inhibits the growth of live bacteria through structural optimization. In addition, it also performs well in degreasing and washing, with a high ignition point of 150°C, which ensures its safety in use.
