General performance: Barium sulfate has the advantages of strong chemical inertness, good stability, acid and alkali resistance, moderate hardness, high specific gravity, high whiteness, and ability to absorb harmful rays. It is a material with environmental protection functions. Superfine barium sulfate is a superfine powder produced by ultrafine processing of natural barium sulfate by physical methods. It is a colorless orthorhombic crystal structure, white powder, specific gravity 4.50 (15°C), melting point 1580°C, and its chemical properties are quite stable. It has the ability to block and absorb high energy rays; micron-level ultrafine barium sulfate is an excellent body pigment with special dispersibility, stability and can provide good gloss; sub-micron level ultrafine barium sulfate (referred to as high-gloss barium) in addition to the above-mentioned characteristics, it has a good space separation ability for titanium dioxide and other pigment particles, thereby saving costs. Because of its good particle size distribution and dispersibility, it can often exceed the use effect of precipitated barium sulfate in some applications. Therefore, it is widely used in various coatings, paints, plastics, rubber, papermaking, medium and high-grade inks and other fields.
