Water-Based Polyamide Wax Paste is a specialized, environmentally friendly additive in paste form, designed for aqueous systems to enhance surface properties and rheology. It is a stable, pre-dispersed emulsion or dispersion of finely ground, modified polyamide wax particles in water, often stabilized with surfactants.
Its primary function is to provide superior surface smoothness, abrasion resistance, and anti-blocking properties in dried films. When incorporated into water-based coatings, inks, or adhesives, the wax particles migrate to the surface during the film-forming and drying process. There, they form a thin, protective, microscopically rough layer that reduces the coefficient of friction. This delivers key performance benefits such as excellent slip, mar and scratch resistance, and improved rub resistance for packaging inks.
Furthermore, it acts as an efficient matting agent, imparting a controlled, satin to semi-gloss finish by scattering light at the film surface. The paste form ensures easy, lump-free incorporation and uniform distribution within the aqueous formulation under low-shear mixing. It is widely used in wood coatings, industrial finishes, overprint varnishes, and flexible packaging inks, offering a VOC-free solution to achieve the durable, high-performance surface characteristics typically associated with solvent-based systems.
