LYDODO of IBI was Invited to Attend the "Kenya-China High-level Investors" Round-table Meeting

On the morning of April 23, during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto to China, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kenya held a roundtable on "Kenya-China High-level Investors" in Beijing, which was attended by representatives of relevant departments, business associations, institutions and enterprises of China and Kenya. Chen Ying, the president's advisor, attended the meeting as a representative of Lydodo, and discussed new opportunities for agricultural cooperation with Kenyan government officials, business representatives and China-Africa investment institutions, so as to promote China-Kenya economic and trade cooperation to a higher level.

President Ruto attended the meeting and delivered a keynote address. He said that Kenya's economy has developed rapidly in recent years, and its GDP has jumped to the sixth place in Africa in 2024. With the help of its strategic geographical advantages, they are important partners in the construction of the "Belt and Road", and the two countries have made remarkable achievements in cooperation in the field of ports, railways and other connectivity. Kenya is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in the future to accelerate the modernization process in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and new energy.

Kenya is one of the largest economies in East Africa, with agriculture accounting for more than 30% of its GDP and mainly exporting economic crops such as tea, coffee and flowers, but food self-sufficiency still faces challenges. As one of the world's largest importers of agricultural products, China and Kenya are highly complementary in terms of grain trade and agricultural technology cooperation. With the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Africa agricultural cooperation is on the fast track. This roundtable provided an opportunity for Chinese companies such as Lydodo to have direct dialogue with the Kenyan government and enterprises, and also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
