The first test flight of drone-based ship supply at Qingdao anchorage has been completed.

Recently, the first trial flight of drone-based anchorage ship supply in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, was successfully completed. The RY-M90 multi-rotor drone developed by a local Qingdao company flew for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 10 kilometers, successfully delivering supplies to an international navigation vessel anchored at Qingdao Qianhai No. 2 anchorage. This marks the first time in China that drones have been used to transport inspection and quarantine equipment to international navigation vessels.
Traditional anchorage supply relies on small boats for transportation, with a single operation taking an average of 4 to 5 hours and being significantly affected by sea conditions. Drones can reduce costs by approximately 75% per operation and improve response speed by 80%. Qingdao Port handles over 100 anchored vessels of various types daily, with a strong demand for supply services. Next, the Qingdao Municipal Transportation Bureau will refine regulatory processes, promote the regular operation of drones, and explore more "low-altitude + marine" application scenarios.
