Nanjing North Station's concrete main structure topped off.
On July 20, the main concrete structure of the station building at Nanjing North Station in Jiangsu was successfully topped out. The project construction has transitioned from civil structure construction to roof steel structure assembly, secondary structure construction, and decoration stages.
Nanjing North Station adopts a multi-level layout with four floors above ground and two floors underground. The station yard has a scale of 16 platforms and 30 tracks, making it the only comprehensive hub station in Nanjing that integrates high-speed rail, intercity rail, and conventional rail. As the second batch of national green and low-carbon advanced technology demonstration projects, the Nanjing North Station project construction management unit, the Nanjing Railway Hub Engineering Construction Command, has organized construction units such as China Railway Construction Group, China Railway Engineering Group, and China Railway Beijing Engineering Group to innovate construction processes and continuously promote intelligent and green construction. So far, 16 out of 50 green and low-carbon technologies have been implemented, cumulatively reducing carbon emissions by 5,207 tons.
To address the challenge of crack prevention in large-volume concrete for railway hub station buildings, the construction units have established a temperature control system covering the entire process of "materials—construction—maintenance." They have deployed an intelligent temperature monitoring sensor network to collect real-time temperature data from the core and surface of the concrete 24 hours a day. A circulating cooling water system is also in place to dynamically regulate the temperature difference between the interior and exterior, ensuring that temperature control indicators remain within controlled parameters.
