Hainan Closure to See Changes: Yangpu Port Imported Fruit Business Exceeds 2025 Year-round
China News Service, Hainan Yangpu, March 19 (Fu Meilan) After the closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port, Yangpu Port has leveraged its location and policy advantages to boost cross-border trade in specialty fresh produce. Data provided by COSCO Shipping Yangpu Port on the 18th shows that, although the first quarter of this year has not yet ended, the port's fruit import business volume has surpassed the total for the entire year of 2025, marking a 12% increase compared to last year, achieving leapfrog growth.
COSCO Shipping Yangpu Port has core advantages such as proximity to Southeast Asia's fruit production areas, dense shipping schedules, convenient water-to-water transshipment, and ample cabin capacity, enabling direct shipping without transshipment and efficient customs clearance.
Due to outstanding logistics efficiency, Yangpu Port has successfully added Southeast Asian specialty fresh fruits such as Indonesian mangosteen, Thai longan, and salak while consolidating its fresh coconut import business this year, continuously enriching the variety of imported fruits, precisely meeting the market's diverse and high-quality consumption demands, and continuously releasing the benefits of the Hainan Free Trade Port's open development.
Currently, it takes only 2-3 days for fresh Vietnamese durians to reach Yangpu by sea, saving nearly half the time compared to traditional land transport; fresh Thai longans can reach the domestic market from the orchard in as fast as 4 days, ensuring efficient and smooth transit with freshness fully guaranteed.
